Student Investment Account Brief
EPSD 9 SIA Narrative:
Planning for SIA requires extensive input from all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community organizations, and community members). The information gathered from these stakeholders is then brought to the EPSD9 SIA Committee to review and implement the needs outlined by stakeholders. The plan is then tiered out based on the funding allocation.
In the 2019-20 school year, SIA was not fully funded. The state allocated approximately one-third of the 3.2 million dollars to EPSD 9. Therefore, we were only able to implement certain components of the original plan. We are hopeful that SIA will be fully funded in the upcoming school year.
EPSD 9 SIA Strategies:
- Provide academic and career & college readiness support for Emerging Bilinguals, Latinx students, students with disabilities, and students experiencing poverty.
- Create a culture of safety and respect for all students and adults that supports the social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of PK-12 students and adults that is critical to academic and professional success.
- Offer students a well rounded educational experience by increasing offerings in fine arts, PE, STEAM, CTE, and outside of school educational activities.
- Provide consistent, ongoing professional learning in supporting students' social emotional well-being and academic achievement to all PK-12 staff.
